James Marroquin, MD is board-certified in internal medicine and palliative medicine. He is committed to developing deep relationships with his patients and helping them maintain their health to live the fullest life possible. He has a special interest in preventative care and managing long-term issues such as anxiety, depression, gout, hypothyroidism, diabetes, hypertension, and lipid disorders. He also enjoys being there for patients when urgent health issues happen like headaches, back pain, and infections.
Dr. Marroquin was awarded the 2015 Ruth M. Bain Young Physician Award by the Travis County Medical Society. He has been repeatedly selected as one of Austin Monthly’s Top Doctors and by Texas Monthly as a Super Doctor. He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians. He serves as a mentor in the Developing Outstanding Clinical Skills (DOCS) course at UT Dell Medical School, educating our next generation of physicians.
He is committed to being his patients’ quarterback and advocate, coordinating with other practitioners involved in his patients’ care. Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Marroquin enjoys writing about health and medicine for lay people, playing tennis (sometimes against his older son who now sometimes beats him), and being part of his church community.
